✅ What IS Covered Under the Manufacturer’s Warranty

 

Warranties (like Generac’s) cover failures caused by manufacturer defects. That means:

 

  • Defective parts
  • Faulty workmanship
  • Premature failure of a covered component

 

In most cases, these issues must occur during normal use, and the part has to be evaluated and approved by an authorized technician (like yours truly).

 

Example: Your starter motor burns out under normal conditions during the warranty period—covered.

 

❌ What’s NOT Covered Under Warranty

 

Warranties do not cover:

 

  • Annual maintenance
  • Oil changes
  • Air filters
  • Spark plugs
  • Valve adjustments
  • Fuel stabilization
  • Battery replacements (unless it fails under a separate battery warranty)

 

These are considered wear items or part of your regular maintenance responsibilities as the owner—just like oil changes in your car aren’t covered by Ford or Chevy.

 

Skipping these tasks can void your warranty altogether.
